Care Center receives $10,000 MassMutual Foundation Grant

06/21/2018
Oklahoma City, June 2018 – The Care Center, an organization dedicated to helping victims of childhood abuse, has received a $10,000 grant from the MassMutual Foundation as part of a national Community Service Award (CSA) program. The Care Center is one of twenty-two organizations nationally to receive an award. The MassMutual Foundation made the grant as a tribute to the volunteer efforts of Aaron Curry, partner at Catalyst Financial, and a MassMutual agent with MassMutual Oklahoma in Oklahoma City.

“We are stronger when we come together as a community, and our Community Service Awards program recognizes a group of MassMutual financial professionals who embody this spirit, working with members of their respective neighborhoods, towns and cities, helping nonprofits with which they are involved grow and thrive,” said Dennis Duquette, Head of MassMutual Community Responsibility and President of the MassMutual Foundation.   “We are proud of the time and energy Aaron dedicates to better his community and delighted to support the great work MassMutual financial professionals do with organizations across the country.”

The Care Center provides free counseling services and forensic interviews for families who have been victims of sexual abuse. With cooperation from the district attorney’s office, they prosecute 95% of the offenders.

“When children come to The Care Center, their innocence has been taken away by the tragic and heartbreaking act of abuse. Through our services, we ensure each child's needs are put first, and they know they are brave. We provide services to help children tell their abuse experience for the investigation and prosecution of their offender as well as provide resources for healing,” notes Stacy McNeiland, director of the Care Center.

Aaron Curry has been with Catalyst Financial and MassMutual for 12 years.  He has been committed to the Care Center since 2014 and has dedicated countless hours of time and talent to help the organization grow and flourish.

“I am very pleased that my dedication to the Care Center has been recognized by the MassMutual Foundation,” said Aaron. “This grant will provide much needed funding to continue supporting our community through healing families and prosecuting offenders.”
